Joseph D. Krupp is the President of Threshold Development Group. As President, Joe oversees all aspects of the development process from inception to completion. 

A Wisconsin native and a University of Wisconsin graduate, Joe began his development career in 1985.  Focusing on urban infill development, he’s responsible for developing a multitude of projects throughout Madison and Dane County.

Joe launched his construction career in 1976 with the founding of Design Shelters, a custom home design company. While operating Design Shelters, Joe founded Krupp General Contractors which has has built commercial offices, clinics, senior housing, restaurants, industrial and multi-family mixed-use projects. Joe sold Krupp General Contractors in 2006 however the company continues to build all of Threshold Development's projects to this day.

Over the past thirty-five years Joe has been a primary developer of the Schenks-Atwood neighborhood, revitalizing it into one of Madison's most desirable and walkable residential neighborhoods. He served as the Chair of the Schenks -Atwood Business District Planning Council that authored a redevelopment plan adopted by the City of Madison in 2000. He was also a major early developer of the Basset Street neighborhood, transforming the area from a student to owner-occupied district. It's this visionary creative reinvention of neighborhoods that Joe most enjoys in the development process.

Throughout his career, Joe has been awarded numerous trade association project recognition awards, as well as the National Builders Association Project of the Year for the Bedford Court apartments in downtown Madison. Joe enjoys giving back to the Community and has been Chairman of the Board at One City Schools, where he continues to serve as a Vice Chairman. He also served on the Boards of Edgewood College; Meriter Residential Services; Madison Repertory Theater Board; Madison Area Builders Association and the Wisconsin Builders Association.
